God gave us a mandate -
“The good news of salvation through Jesus Christ
has been entrusted to the church to take to the nations.”
Matt 28:18-20
In the town of Gitarama, only forty-five minutes outside of Kigali the community is buzzing with excitement. A team of sixty-four Canadians and Americans (including Scott McCurry and Mandy Stahl from The Rock) traveled to Rwanda to help with the construction of a church, a school, a well and the grand opening of an orphanage, which is home for sixty orphans and ten widows. The name for the orphanage was carefully chosen by Drs. George and Hazel Hill; “Victory Family Home of Champions”. They wanted the children to know that they are not alone, they have family, and they are winners in this life and not losers. They were presented with gifts and life necessities such as clothing, food, tooth brushes and tooth paste. This project not
only benefited the children but the entire community. A mission and
medical house are planned to complete this project.
